    Hi Jon,

Love your write-up. Its brilliant. I have recently got myself a RE Himalayan and looking to do some modifications similar to yours before I take it up into the welsh hills on weekends this spring/summer.
I would love to know details on a couple of products:
    – Make/description of the Chinese spotlights you fitted.
    – Make/description of the ABS switch you fitted

When were you switching the ABS off out of interest? Was this for some of the offroad sections? Of did you do this mod so that you could instantly switch off the ABS in the event of needing to stop very quickly?

Fantastic write-up by the way – love it!

    Hi Tom
Thanks for your comment! It’s a great bike, I really like it. I’ve just fitted the TEC cam to it. I did have a new top-end on the engine when I got back (barrel, piston and head), partly my fault for thrashing it in high temps perhaps. The valve guides were worn and I had a warped cylinder head, though the bike was still running fine. It was actually fixed under warranty. I still rate the bike, especially at the price!
    .
The lights I bought are these ones- I find them excellent https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07M9P5XYB/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item
I can’t find the exact switch I used for the ABS, doesn’t seem to be listed any more, but it is identical to this one- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174574541030?hash=item28a57418e6:g:L8oAAOSwgzVf6Y7l It’s still working fine. I switched the ABS off whenever I went off-road, except once on a very good hard-packed section. I actually would like to find a way of only switching off ABS on the rear only, and will have a look at trying to do that before the summer.

I’m glad you enjoyed the write-up. Happy riding, hope we meet one day on a trail or at a meet somewhere!
